We are not de facto heroes.  We are not sacrosanct.  We are not owed anything but our retirement, VA benefits and a proper burial.  We are not owed deference or respect.

My ears and eyes began absorbing every word, sight, and bit of minutia on the screen.  I reached for my cell phone – but I had left it at home - it would not work in the US anyway.  I saw a bank of pay phones against the wall and found myself dropping Pound coins in one, and then dialing home.  All circuits were busy, and they stayed that way through boarding time.

“Winning” was never in the cards – it had been expunged from the deck and become a bad joke uttered with all seriousness on CNN by those that would be King.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Five years later, as Governor DeSantis issued a proclamation in remembrance of this horrific attack - the media, and many Americans still perpetuate the half truth that this was simply a hate crime against the LGBT community. It was much more than that - it was an attack against the LGBT community, and all of Western tolerance and acceptance of that community. It was an attack firmly based in the tenets of Fundamental Islam.

There ARE limits on Free Speech – as well as assembly, redress of grievances, the press and religion. Those limitations are generally defined by the BRIGHT RED LINE of the next person’s rights – to include those to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 

While the primaries closely resemble the Electoral College process – they are not a Constitutional function and the rules set by the parties can be changed without input by any lawmaking body.

What I cannot and will not support is forced equality of results or denigrating ANY race, color, creed, religion, or sex expressly to the benefit of another for the sake of so-called “justice.”

We demand rights not enumerated and further demand that those "rights" be far from infringed, but actively promoted...
