There are certain unalienable rights, endowed by our creator and guaranteed to us by the Constitution (and its amendments) of the United States. Among these, are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Neither man nor God guarantees happiness or gratification, only that you have a right to pursue it.
Likewise, under the enumerated rights guaranteed in the Constitution, the government does not guarantee an outlet for free speech or a building in which to practice religion freely, nor does it provide the arms that one has a right to keep and bear nor a home from with we should be protected from the quartering of troops. Indeed, in all cases the Constitution simply provides that the Federal Government shall not infringe on those enumerated rights.
As we see these enumerated rights foreshortened, subverted, and limited at all levels by all political persuasions, we argue wrongheadedly about how much regulation is well and proper, in fitting with “shall not infringe.”
Conversely, we demand rights not enumerated and further demand that those “rights” be far from infringed, but actively promoted. We demand that these “rights” be bought and paid for with taxes collected under threat of fine or imprisonment and given gratis to the masses, regardless of enumeration, moral objection, Constitutionality, or burden upon those fiscally invested in the wellbeing of the Nation.
Thus, I ask a simple question – If the Federal Government does not provide a firearm, ammunition, regular training, and facilities, are my rights enumerated and guaranteed against infringement of that right by that same government, being trampled?
Think about that as you demand legislative redress and unlimited, unconditional fiscal and bureaucratic support for your declared, yet un-enumerated rights.
